“Humming and Singing While Playing in Clarinet Performance: An Evidence Based Method for Performers and Resource for Composers.” — This is my DMA research paper, which used quantitative measurements to investigate two methods of creating vocalized pitches in clarinet performance, labeled humming and singing while playing. A method for performers (available for free download on this page) and a resource for composers wishing to write using the techniques were created using the results from the data analysis. Video examples of each technique are also included on the Arizona State University Digital Repository.
